My diagnosis and chemo treatment for pancreatic cancer.

Hi,

I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer stage 4 with a metastatic liver tumour in March '17. I have a rare type of pancreatic cancer, acinar cell carcinoma. I initially started treatment with Abraxan and Gemzar for 14 months and my doctor switched me to Folofiriox in July '18. I had my 43rd treatment of Folfirinox this week. It isn't easy, but better than the alternative.

  • Hello Simon,

thats some kind of a struggle you have been involved with, and l have some kind of idea of what you are going through. It always staggers me that people can find the capacity within themselves to find the strength to keep going and cope with this level of treatment over such a long period of time.

l do hope that you are making some headway at getting your unwelcome visitor under control and the treatment is managing to reduce the tumours, making your many sacrifices worthy of all your efforts

.Hopefully the day will come where you are able to look beyond the alternative, and l hope your journey becomes easier for you,

                                            take care,

                                                                    David
