Cervical cancer

I'm new here and I wanted to join up because it's nice to talk to people who are in same boat with cancer.

I got diagnosed with cervical cancer in middle of December, which had impacted on our Christmas but not much as I wanted to have positive mind and still have today. Started Chemotherapy in January 2020 Im on every 3 weeks Chemotherapy and I have 2 more sessions left now which I'm nervous about and I have had scans and they have come back really good news from consultants for are dealing with my case. The chemo suite where I am have great staff , I like to go because I'm doing it for me and to get a bit of rest from My home do a different 4 walls to. So I have one more scan to go to see if I need anymore Chemotherapy or not but if I have to then I am doing it, I may be new here but if anyone wants to chat I be happy to talk.

All the best to you all and I know it's not easy living with cancer or what's going on with this Pandemic, stay strong, stay positive and stay safe to all.

  • Hi bravegal86

I have just finished 6wks of chemo radio and brachy cycles for cc. Can I ask what scans you get? I'm going out my mind waiting for my first post treatment scan. They me told me I need to wait till 12 wks after treatment before I can have my first scan, so as you can imagine the wait is torture.

  • Hi Nic,

Thankyou for your reply, I'm having CT scans after every 3 sessions I have. I rather them than other scans I've had, I also had to have a PICC LINE inserted as they had trouble finding my veins on my second treatment in my first block, which is alot easier as they can aslso take bloods out too which helps.  I'm sure your results will be fine,  Im not the sort of to tell people what to do but this is advice. Just try not to worry or stress out, I have also remained positive to. But I have had good news from my last 2 scans and the Chemotherapy is working, stay strong and stay safe.
