Worried about cancer

Hi I was just wondering if anyone could help its my 1st time posting on any forum, sorry its going to be a bit of a long post

I'm 25 I had a smear test done Dec 18 and the nurse doing it said I had a bumpy cervix and asked if I had bleeding after sex and any family history of cervical cancer I said no but this worried me that she asked about this, my results came back abnormal with CIN ll. So this worried the life out of me, I had the leep procedure beginning of Jan 19 and my results came back that it was progressing down to CIN I so the results were better than we first thought. I had no problems with the healing after that. 6 month smear came back normal and tested negative for HPV. But for the past year now I have been bleeding after intercourse and my periods are irregular. Not been on contraception for over 2 years now. I had a colopscopy in October 19 due to the bleeding and I had a cervical erosion so she put silver nitrate on and said not to have intercourse for 3 days so I left it a week and I bled so much after it looked like I had come on my period. I left it for a long time before having intercourse again but still getting some bleeding after. I have also been having intermittent mild pelvic and back pain for some months now I'm not sure if I'm focusing on it to much I do suffer with health anxiety and this is making me really worry. I have also had CA125 test twice 1st result was 15 and 2nd was 19. So was told this is within normal limits. I'm just really worried there's something wrong, I did have a gynaecology app in March this year but due to covid-19 it has been cancelled and been discharged back to my GP I was told to contact them again in 3 months. Its made me worry that if there is something wrong I have to wait even longer to get checked out. Its ruining my sex life. I hardly have sex with my partner because I know I'm going to bleed and if I see it I worry more. I never had the bleeding before I had the leep procedure, not sure if its got anything to do with that or if there's an actual problem. I have also had cystitis symptoms on and off for over a year now aswell. Anyones feedback will be greatly appreciated and once again sorry for the long post

  • Hello Bobbie82,

A warm welcome to our forum. How unfortunate for you that due to the current coronavirus climate you have been informed that your gynaecology appointment has been cancelled and you have been discharged back to your GP. It may be a good idea then to give your GP a call and explain your situation and how you are feeling about all this. Don't hesitate to mention to your doctor that this is affecting your sex life as you worry about bleeding. Do mention too that you never had any bleeding before you had this procedure and feel free to ask whether they think this is related or not. So do give your surgery a call so you can talk to your GP about your situation and explain that you are a little upset that your appointment was cancelled and that you don't know now what to do about this.

Hopefully you will also hear from others here who have been in a similar situation and I hope they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.

I hope you get to talk to the doctor's soon and that it will be helpful.

    Best wishes,
