Thanks for contacting us.  I thought i would reply as i am TNBC and going through treatment now.  There's actually a few of us on here so she is more than welcome to contact us for advice.

My name is Michelle and I was diagnosed last August at the age of 42 with grade 3 and stage 2b, so also in my lymph nodes and a few tumours in my left breast with the largest 5.3cm.  i started with chemo first to shrink the tumours, so your aunt will more than likely be on same or similar drugs i was.  I finished chemo in march and had a left mastectomy and full node clearance 5 weeks ago.  I'm now recovering from my opp and doing arm exercises so i can get my arm above my head for radiotherapy!

So i have some time on my hands and more than happy to answer any questions your aunt has.  It is a scary time for us, but we'll get there.

You sound like a true inspiration as I can't imagine how much of a scary time this has been for you but it does sound like your posisitivity is helping you along the way.

I am really pleased for you that your progress is positive so much so that you can raise your arm above your head as I am sure that has been quite a challenge in itself, so well done you and keep it up!

My aunt came to me for help as my husband and father-in-law both had different cancers, much at the same time with me being the primary carer for my husband and full on support care again for my father-in-law so I know first hand what is faced, but different cancers and chemo affect everyone differently so with my aunt, she was quite keen, like most I suppose to be able to ask for advice or tips as and when she needs them and best it comes from someone in the know! so, thank you again for replying.

I have sent her the link of our conversation and suggested she contact you directly so I am sure when she is ready, she will.

Keep strong and keep smiling and never give up, as I am sure you will get through it and get back to mischief in no time :-)  xxx

You're welcome.  I know how scary and daunting it can be and its nice to chat to others that have been through it.  This forum has sure helped me at times, esp when you just want to rant but dont want to get your family upset.

Sounds like you are too familiar with the big C, hope your husband and father in law are doing ok.  I know the support i get from my husband and friends is amazing, couldn't do it without them. 

Lovely, happy to chat to her and she can also message me privately is she prefers rather than chatting on the forum.  Otherwise we also have a group that a few of us ladies are on with triple negative cancer.  'Just been diagnosed, BC - triple negative.'
