Hi ladies, please can any of you give me a little advice. I had my routine smear in November 19. Recieved results xmas eve , to say i had high grade changes and hpv. Had colposcopy 30th dec, 3 areas showed up with the acid solution but turned out i was allergic to iodine so couldnt perform the loop ldtz and was told 2sections was very high up in my cervix so needed a GA. Had GA 26th feb, wasnt seen by any one before i was discharged but was told i would recieve my discharge letter in the post in aprox 2 weeks and biopsy results in aprox 4 weeks. Then Corona Virus hit........ results delayed. Now at 8.5 weeks and was to the point of telling my self no news is good news. Got a phone call on friday (2days ago) to say my results had been discussed in their MDT meeting and that the consultant wants to see me . I asked why i hadnt recieved my discharge letter she replied "youll get one when your done with us" - i asked what my results showed the lady said "the consultant will go through all that with you" my appointment is 11th may , i feel like thats ages away and feel sick with worrying. Is it cancer? Whats an MDT meeting? I feel 17days isnt urgent if somthing serious is wrong? My last smear 3 years ago was normal. I honestly think the not knowing and waiting is far worse than knowing there is somthing wrong. Im 31  and lost one of my best friends 2years ago (age 28) to c.c so i know im probley worrying more than i should (sorry) Thanks for reading and find it so inspirational to have read your stories. • Welcome to the forum Carliw although I'm sorry for the reason you've joined us.

As you've mentioned in your post, the waiting and not knowing is really tough. In fact some of our members have said it's the hardest part of the process so they know what you're going through at the moment and will hopefully pop by soon to offer their support and advice.

I've found some information on the NHS website which explains what an MDT meeting is but if you'd like to discuss this or your situation with one of our cancer nurses then you can contact them on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Wishing you all the best for the 11th May Carliw.

    Kind regards,
