I just got a letter too and have been in remission for almost 20 years from aggressive non hodgkin's lymphoma but fine other wise doctor said the advice he had been given was for my type of cancer was people who are at any stage of treatment and that is very vague and he had to be on the safe side.

He also said there isn't any evidence that I'm more at risk but as the virus is so new they just don't know and I might be at risk I'm going to try and contact the poeple that handle my after care and see what they think.

Given the vague advice your GP received, I understand the approach they have taken. I expect that applies to me too then. 

As I wasn't included in the original letters a month ago I was curious to know why now and wondered if there was new evidence but your GP doesn't seem to think so. 

The wonderful NHS staff supported me so well during my treatment, and I will be forever grateful.

I will of course not risk undoing their care and adhere to the advice I have been given but I will miss working very much.

I think you got a letter now because the goverment had asked GP's to write to anyone that meets the criteria they have set out and it takes time as they're having to look through it all manually.

I Think in my case they might be being overly safe I would have thought I'd be considered cured gonna contact my follow up care and see what they think if they tell me the letter is right I'll do it I'll let you know what they say but i don't know when that will be.

It gets a bit more confusing in my case tho as I've already tested postive for covid in mid march I know it's not known if you can or cant catch it again but surly having antibodys would offer some level of protection.

I know it's a new virus so we don't actually know everything about it yet but I have just read that Oxford University have successfully produced an antibody testing kit which will start to become available from June. 
 

If the article is accurate, it states those with immunity can return to work . 

Boris Johnson is returning to work tomorrow , I will be interested in hearing his comments during the evening briefing . 

WHO have said there is no evidence yet that you cant catch covid19 again and have warned against immunity passports hopfully is this because they not 100% sure and not because they is no immunity.

My understanding is that they're right, in that , you can catch anything again but you would've built up antibodies against it . 

I couldn't get hold of a doctor that deals with my after care just his receptionist and she told me to follow the letter I feel like I'd be letting people down if I'm off sick tho.

I know , I feel the same way. 
 

My doctor wrote a letter saying I could continue to work , however Occupational health and HR would not overrule the letter ! So I'm now working from home calling patients etc and referring to the relevant healthcare agency . 
 

Not want I want to be doing but I've had to accept it .
