Hi everyone,
I am a 39 year old woman. I found a smallish lump in my breast behind my nipple maybe a few months ago now. I assumed it was period related and would go after a while. As I am working from home due to covid I started to feel more aware that it was still there so booked a docs appointment to be on the safe side. She was fairly sure it was a Fibroadenoma as it 'moved like a mouse' but booked me into the breast clinic 2 days later. There I had a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. Again, everyone was very positive saying it doesn't look/feel suspicious at all but biopsy done as they couldn't confirm exactly what it is. They said I would have biopsy results in a week. I received a letter this Tues with an appointment to receive my results next Thurs 30.04. I called them to see if I could take anyone with me due to covid and was told 'oh actually the appointment may get cancelled as they are trying to see as few people as possible due to virus. They are having their MDT meeting on Friday and will call you if you can receive your results over the phone'. This immediately put my mind to rest so I waited till Friday for a phone call. Well that was yesterday and I didn't hear anything. I am so nervous as I feel that due to this virus they definitely would not call me to hospital unless it is bad news and I need some kind of treatment. The waiting is horrendous as I'm sure you all know. I am constantly googling and thinking the worst. I received a letter from the hospital to my GP which said they had found on the mammogram a 2.2cm well defined lesion and that they would keep the dr updated on my progress. Again nothing concrete but just makes me fear the worst. Is anyone else waiting on biopsy results during this pandemic?
Thanks for listening.
Nikki
