Lump in breast.

Hi,

I am 44 years old and was diagnosed with LCIS in 2017. I have yearly mammogram's and recently had one on the 28th February. I haven't received the results yet and neither has my GP.
I have had a cyst under my right nipple for about a year. It has always been mobile, squishier and round but slightly deflated with puckered edges a bit like a deflated balloon feels. However it is now protruding from my breast and is hard and the shape is now knobbly. Having had a mammogram two month's ago should I be worried?

Thanks

Kellee

    Hi Kellee,

Welcome to our forum. It certainly sounds as if it is worth getting this checked out again, as things can change within a couple of months.

Have you asked your GP to chase the results up? This seems far too long to have to wait for results. They usually come through in 1-2 weeks. The other way to get your results would be to phone your consultant's secretary and ask her what the delay is and, when you will get your results.

I know that results are taking a little longer now with Covid 19, but your results should have been back before this all started.

Do please stay in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine,

Thank you for responding to my post. I called the GP yesterday and they have referred me to the breast clinic. They said if I haven't received a letter a week on Monday that I need to call them back.
I will update post after my appointment.

    Thanks again

    Kellee

    Hi Kellee,

I am glad to hear that your GP has referred you to the breast clinic. Here's hoping that they find nothing untoward and you can breathe a sigh of relief.

If they do any tests, you should get the results in 1-2 weeks.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
