DCIS/TNBC

Hi,

I hope you all are keeping well, strong and safe!

just recently been diagnosed with TNBC.
Have had all the necessary tests/scans/examinations - It's still surreal for me... it's like a silent movie that it's scripted and I am just playing this role of a cancer patient. I am not a subservient to cancer! But There are  times when It tries to overpower me- have this rage of emotions that are so uncontrollable not knowing what is happening- and times when I feel I will be positive and cope and face all the challenges and come out the other side well and in control of my life! 

I am due to have chemo and am so apprehensive about how it will impact on me... yet I know I need as this will help me fight this unwanted plaque. 
it's funny someone described it a powerful domestos and that really made me laugh...

can anyone, please share there experience when they had their first chemo - did you have cooling cap on, when did you notice hair loss (-appreciate we all are unique)... nails changes, physiological changes etc.

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Modena although I'm sorry about your diagnosis.

    There are so many emotions a person goes through when being given a cancer diagnosis and as I'm sure our members will tell you, everything you've mentioned and experienced so far is completely normal.

    Hopefully some of them will share their experiences with you soon but do feel free to join in on any other discussions you find about this when using the 'search forum' option in the blue bar above.

    Thank you for your msg.

    I have just had my first cycyle and to be honest was unprepared for the side effects. Although, I knew what to expect it's was far from my expectation. I had the port insertion and straight chemo... 

    emotions are playing but more because I can't find answers. All those beautiful powerful blogs and experience shared give you some strength but each one is so unquie. I think right now my head is on overload mode with so much information that it's taking time to sieve, what's relevant to me.

    i still feel unwell, body feel as if it's controlled by chemo and am forcing myself to overcome these feelings by eating very light, liquid, little exercise... I am on the road  to recovery .. Wishing god gives me the strength and tenancity to complete this journey successfully.
