  • Hi Vicky and welcome to the Cancer Chat.

You've been through so much on your journey but I'm so glad to read you are now cancer free. It must have been such wonderful news to receive and you clearly deserve it as I'm sure many of our members, who will hopefully be along soon, will agree.

    Kind regards,

  • It is so nice to hear you are cancer free. Maybe you have a positive optimistic outlook on life and this goes a long way towards healing as negative thoughts create chemicals like cortisol and other stress related chemicals which do us no good, it sounds like your body has created the right chemicals to get you cancer free, congratulations.

  • Thank u it's been hard but just like everyone one who is on here and others we all

    jist have to stay positive

  • Hello

your story is inspiring and I am so glad you are cancer free. I wish everyone with advanced cancer could have such a result in the end. I do think that a positive attitude helps - if I got cancer, I'd be positive and do everything I could to kick it's butt- however I don't have cancer, my mum does, and unfortunately she is a very negative person when it comes to this. She has had mental health issues & depression on & off most of her life and now this big blow.

i think this is why she's still in hospital & not home with us- the hospital think she won't be ok without their care. It scares me & I try to buck mum up but she won't get out of her dark place. It's so scary.

Again, I am pleased that you are now clear of this awful disease. Best Wishes x

  • When I was first diagnosed I was the same I thought o was never going g to see my son grow up ijist Was so scared and do don't know what to do or think I just wanted to hide and cry but after my first surgery I faced ha omg chemo and I didint want to go on but I did and I was so poorley off chemo that some days I didint want to live but I cane through it I carried on and beat it I think you have to just let your mum take day by day Nd just let her know you are tbeir for her she will get tbeir it just takes time I  send my luv to you your mum and family x on

  • Aww it must have been terrifying -when you hear those words for the first time -that word cancer. It's a scary word and brings so many racing thoughts that's what mum said she said all she can do now is think all the time ..

I want mum to have chemo and radio and maybe immuno as it's gastric cancer & sometimes they try immuno but I'd let them try anything to get it under control. I love her so much.

God bless you & take care xx

  • I really hope your mum gets better she just has to stay positive and not let tbe horrible thing win I have had it 6 times and never thought I would get to the point where I am now but I fought it and your mum will to pulses tell her from me that not ever to give up because you can beat it if I can do it 6 times she can

  • Hi Vicky,

what a lovely message to read. My husband literally turned 50 two days after being diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer, after a dvt was found in his leg 2 weeks ago. Everything is moving very quickly he has been told it's not curable and his liver is not operable but this story just gives anyone hope. He's still very poorly as his blood clot travelled to his lung after his biopsy on Thursday and he ended up being rushed into hospital for 4 days. I now have him home and am giving him blood thinners twice a day and building him up to start his chemotherapy unfortunately he has to have another biopsy next week as the previous one was inconclusive. Im hoping and praying he responds well to all his treatment. Enjoy living your best life you certainly deserve it

  • I'm so glad to see there is no cancer on your  last scan.  Can I ask what operations you had? Did you have any operations on your liver.?  I got diagnosed with stage 4 womb cancer in January 2019 in December it was confirmed That it had also  spread to my lung and liver.  Since December I have had three ct scans which have shown it is progressing rapidly in my liver . Was on a trial but because it's now continuing in my liver I've been taken off.  What were you offered as  further treatment,  I've had my original chemo then started a second lot of chemo with the trial and now they can only offer me a further chemo regime and that might not be possible given my prognosis and the current COVID19.  So I'm pretty much on my own at the moment.  Did you take any supplements, eating differently which you felt helped you.  Hope you don't mind me asking you   I'm 55 and was very fit and healthy when this all started and remained positive all the way through but my positivity is fading.
