Aml

Hi everyone

I am a 44 lady who had a scan and bloods to work out indigestion. Found low kidney function on bloods a aml on each kidney...was advised 3cm on one 4cm on other. Was due to see consultant yest but due to current crisis had telephone consultation instead. He was very dismissive - said they are 3mm/4mm and as I have finished my family I'll be completely signed off. I experience uti type tummy/side pain but have left as the nhs is just so overwhelmed. Just feeling little perplexed.

    Hi Hoods,

Welcome to our forum. I am a breast cancer lady and do not know a lot about AML, but notice that nobody has replied to your post. I can fully understand how you feel when your consultant was so dismissive.

As far as I understand AML are the most common benign tumours of the kidney. The current situation is extraordinary. The normal situation is to have these reviewed annually in case any complications arise.

Perhaps the best person to discuss this with is your GP, as s/he will have received a report from your consultant.

I hope that your GP can reassure you that all is well and, arrange for a review if s/he deems this necessary.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
