Lymph nodes removed

I had all of my lymph nodes removed from underarm following stage 3 breast cancer in 2015.  Does this make me at risk from Covid 19. I am self isolating 8 days now. Thank you.

  • Hi Joanelizabeth, welcome to the forum.

Although we can’t give detailed information about whether you are considered at risk, you may find the following information helpful.

The NHS will be writing to everyone in England who is considered to be extremely vulnerable. You can read the advice they will be given and the types of people they will be contacting on the Public Health England website here. If you are still unsure, it may be worth getting in touch with your GP surgery to find out.

We have some general information about the coronavirus on our website just here as well.

As the situation changes and more evidence become available about corona virus and its impact, the information may change so we would suggest that you check the government information on the link above from time to time but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm.

    Kind regards,
