Diagnosed - MRI scan?

Hi,

My wife who is 30 weeks pregnant was diagnosed with breast cancer the week before last, she had a mastectomy this week and we're waiting for the results now the tumour has been removed.

Weve been told that due to the pregnancy she cant have a CT or MRI scan. However would she have been offered one if she wasn't pregnant? Research ive done shows that MRis can be safe when pregnant...

I want to rule out that the cancer has been spread, but we cant do anything till our baby arrives.

Any advice would be great.

Dan
