Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm so sorry to read about your partner - I can only imagine how incredibly difficult this must be. I'm so sorry for your loss, especially given how quickly it's all happened. I'm sure this has been a huge shock.

I hope you have others around you that you can speak to about this. Either way, we're always here on this forum to listen and support wherever possible. It is often helpful to simply write things down and know that there are others here who understand, and many who have been through something similar.

There are also organisations who offer support to people in situations such as yours - like Cruse; you can find their website here.

Do keep using this forum as much as is helpful - as I say, we're always here for you.

Hi Daisy

I am so sorry. This is heartbreaking. Cancer can be so SNEAKY. My wonderful mum has been diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer with liver spreads . She was seemingly very healthy with no pain, no change in bowel Habits or anything. Went into hospital with mild pneumonia 4 weeks ago all seemed well she was getting better and then some eagle eyed doc spotted liver "lesions" on the CT scan she underwent on her lungs .. sent for another abdomen and pelvis CT- bam!. Cancer in liver and all her bowel. Well mum is in a shocking state now she is so panicked, worried and sad that she has had to be sedated. She's 71 so not young but still this is a shock. She never expected cancer at all she thought she'd be home by now. It's awful. This wretched disease often has no symptoms til it gets advanced. It's breaking our hearts. All I can offer you Daisy is my utmost sympathy now at this painful time. Take care.
