Widespread Cin 3. 2 lettz 2 biopsies

Hi all. So I got my smear test results on the 27th december, and it said they were abnormal. Went for a colposcopy and they did the lletz procedure there and then and a biopsy. My colposcopist said she was confident. It wasn't exactly painful but obviously I had no idea what to expect. Was quite brave during the procedure but nearly passed out after. Such a baby lol. Anyway fast forward I developed an infection and had a hospital stay then waited the rest of the 6 weeks for the results. Got an extremely vague letter saying I had to see the clinical specialist for further investigation that was it. Called my colposcopist and she said that normally they aim to take a depth at 7mm but had done so at 10 and they had no clear margins. Fast forward again. 5th of march I had 2nd lletz which was traumatic was so much more painful than the first ( roughly 6 weeks apart) 5 local injections later, a struggle with the plastic thing speculum maybe ( sorry mind has gone blank to what it's called). I'm still bleeding now, but I don't know if it's still because of the colposcopy or if it has triggered my period. All I know is that all of those bits are still tender, still crampy and I'm one of those ladies that just wakes up and her period is there with no fuss no pain. Sorry I'm writing war and peace. The question I want to ask is has anyone had their second biopsy test come back stating again no clear margins. My specialist was very vague when I asked what happens next ot was literally you'll have to wait for the results which I'm going to rush so hopefully you'll have them in 2 weeks instead of 6. Should I be worried?

  • Hello Lins40 and welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with these health concerns at the moment. It's understandable that you're feeling sore and concerned after what you've been through. If the bleeding continues or concerns you at all then do get in touch with your GP.

We know that waiting for results can be a very difficult time and although the Consultant pushing them through may feel like a negative in the situation you should have some news soon.

If you'd like to talk through your concerns with one of our nurses then you're welcome to call them. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
