Reassurance Scan?

Hi

Have had a dull ache/heavy feeling in the left side of my scrotum for 2 weeks or so, im a new dad so spend alot of time lifting and running around so put it down to strain, however it didn't change so have just been to my Doctors.

No lumps, negative urine test and the Doc did a full check of my abdomen etc, all good and they said nothing to worry about.

But, just to be safe they've booked me in for an scan - fully trust my doctor, but, i've never been for a scan before so am a bit worried that i've been reffered.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Thanks

Rich.

  • Hi Rich,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. If the doctor didn't seem concerned then you can of course take some reassurance from that - it may simply be that they referred you to give you peace of mind about this. So in a way having the scan will provide certainty.

I hope it's not too long for you to wait for the appointment.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hi

My son did have a small lump and went to see his GP who then referred him for an ultrasound. Thankfully it was just a cyst, he continues to have pain there but GP is not concerned, just some neproxin for the pain and it clears up. Trust your GP and see the scan as something that will give you peace of mind. All the best.
