New to Cancer

Hello I've recently Been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I began chemo last week and found it quite gruelling. First two nights were awful with a headache, nausea, hiccups, sore throat, and insomnia.  I'm anxious about the cycle of treatments. My specialist is very encouraging and says my cancer is very treatable.

Im anxious about the Corona virus - going out into the world and trying to use common sense and a positive attitude

My appetite has come back and I'm feeling much better this evening. Hiccups gone, nausea abated - throat still a bit sore and mucousy.

  • Hi Rafrob,

Welcome to Cancer Chat, although I'm sorry to read about what you're going through at the moment. It's good to hear you've been feeling a bit better and also that your specialist seems positive.

It's of course natural to experience various side effects with chemo, but do speak to your consultant if you have any particular concerns about this.

Try not to worry about coronavirus - we have some information on our website here about this which may be helpful.

I hope you find the forum helpful - do feel free to browse around for other relevant discussions too.

    Wishing you all the best,
