Breast biopsy - waiting for my results

Hi all,

This is my first post but reading through other forums has already made me feel slightly better.

I felt a small lump in my right upper/inner breast just after Christmas and went to the doctors they couldn't feel anything so I left it a couple more weeks, I still felt it so was referred for a breast ultrasound, I went for it today and the doctor saw it straight away and took 3 biopsy's, I've been told I will have a appointment in 2 weeks to discuss the results. But it could just be Fibroadenomas, is it possible just to have the one lump?

I'm so worried, I'm 27 in the process of buying a house and am getting married next year. I can't help but think the worst, I'm not sure how I'm going to get through 2 weeks.

Has anyone here been in the same situation recently and had good news at the results appointment?

Thank you x

  • Hi Ladysurf,

stay positive, sending you lots of love x

    Hi Ladysurf,

Here's hoping that your mammogram goes well tomorrow.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Spook cat I'm so relieved for you that you've got the results that you wanted and that you are at a stage where they can get it all sorted for you it truly is the worst feeling in the world just waiting. I'm truly over the moon x

  • Well all those positive vibes you ladies have been sending me worked. I just have a movement in my breast plate where I breast feed and the lumps under my armpit are very enlarged lymph nodes. The NHS are truly amazing it took over 3.5hrs after having my breasts examined by a young male very professional dr. The way he checked my breasts are so different from the way I've ever been taught and so very gentle. Then I had an ultra sound with a lovely lady who examined me and showed me where the lumps are and what they look like. All negative. Over the moon.

I wanted to post the same day but literally been rushed off my feet. Can I say this group has really helped me mentally as it puts things in my head at bay. I don't know any of you ladies, don't know what you look like but all of your kind words and encouragementwill stay with me forever. I've never used a forum before as I've never really felt I've needed to not even with the babies. It's such a personal journey and also says a lot about us woman. We don't like to burden or feel like we are a burdening People and then feel like maybe we are being talked about like she's over reacting etc. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

with out your words my mind would be scrambled.

sending all of you love and well wishes xx

  • Lisa, I'm so glad your news was good. You are right, this forum is great. I find when you are in the same boat as other women it helps to share, even it it is just virtual! Having cancer or a cancer scare can make you feel so alone. On here we are less alone.
    Sending love,

    Marisa

  • Catphoebe I can't believe they are making you wait so long for your results.
I'm sending you good vibes over the air waves.

I have my next biopsy on 20th so at least it's in hand. I've stopped worrying about it now as I know that at worst I will need a lumpectomy and at best just be kept under surveillance.

The waiting is the worst bit. I've got everything crossed for you.

    Hi Ladysurf,

I'm absolutely delighted for you. I'm also glad that your experience of the breast clinic was good. The NHS gets poor publicity at times, but there are some sterling people working within it and, we really are very fortunate to have such a service available to us.

It is heartening to hear that you got help from this forum too. I certainly found it a great help in the early stages.

Here's hoping that you never have any further problems with your breasts, but do keep checking.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
