Hi, I'm new to the forum. Some years ago I found a lump on the outside of my left breast, had mamogram where I was told it was a cyst. At 50 I had my first routine mamogram screen which was fine. 2 years ago I had my 2nd mamogram following which I had a recall for suspicious area to outer edge left breast. Ultrasound showed cyst.

About 4 months ago I had a strange feeling in the outside of my left breast. I waited to rule out stress, muscle pain etc. I had made an appt with my Gp (this Tuesday) but yesterday I have found a very small firm lump in the area of the strange sensations I've been getting.

Sorry for the long tale but i'm worried I've become a bit neurotic about my symptoms. Has anyone else had anything like this!?

    Welcome to our forum.

    I am sorry to hear about your symptoms, but glad to hear that you had an appointment with your GP yesterday.

    I think that I speak for many, when I say that this is how we discovered our lumps. However, the diagnoses has been different for many of us. Some have just had cysts, firoadenomas or even lipomas, whilst others have received a positive diagnosis of breast cancer. My first diagnosis was 10 years ago when I discovered a lump whilst I was taking a shower. Six months later I found a larger lump in my other breast, but this turned out to be benign. Forward another 6 months and I discovered another lump in my original breast and this was again breast cancer.

    You are doing the best thing in getting it tested and, I sincerely hope that it still turns out to be nothing untoward.
