77 year old female just got over serious operation

I had a perforated bowel at which time I underwent a serious emergency operation and ended up with a colostomy. They had sent a biopsy to the lab at the tme - two weeks  after op they told me that it had come back as cancerous. I then went for CT scans and a colonoscopy which all came back negative.  I have been offered chemo tablets to take at home (4000mls per day for six months) there are of course after effects to your mouth (ulcers) diahorrhea,  nausea, some sort of problem with your hands and feet etc etc. Now I have just received a letter from the radiography department which no doubt means I am supposed to have radiation  as well. I am wondering if I should bother at my age. If I can get in maybe two years without all this, I think I will do it. ANyone else in my age group with  the same predicament
