Feel totally helpless

What is going on?

I’m  49 peri-meno with a Merina coil and estraderm hrt (50’s). I really did struggle for a bit before hrt but everything seemed fine for ages i started coming out of the rut. Then maybe 5 month back my pharmacy told me there was a national shortage of estroderm and I would have to go on estrodot which I did and don’t know if it was me but I did feel less in control again. I also started to get a horrid pain at this time which feels like a period pain up the centre to the belly button and aching on my right side and a really painful lower back.
Back to docs sent me for a vaginal scan but couldn’t see anything, ( I thought thank goodness because my mum had ovarian cancer) and my coil in place but they said I had loads of gas . So off I went to get laxatives thinking that was the problem but no the pains there even when I’m fine with the loo. I went back to my docs and my blood test came back with a little anemia so I’m having another investigation blood test today for anaemia and why.  My doc is also sending me for a colonoscopy. But my pain is central and feels like a sharp shoooter up to my belly button and my right side ovary feels like a bloated feeling.

Last month the pharmacy told me estroderm back and my doc put me back on It, but low and behold this week I’ve started having bad night sweats, my ovaries feel like they are swelled and my nipples well if anyone even brushed passed them I think I would kill them. I can cry at anything anyway but this week I’ve really felt the dark mood come back in and the crying has started at nothing.
I try to ride the wave but I’m worried about this pain. Do u think an I should ask for ct or mri??

  • Hello Daisydoowhereareyou

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling with some health problems recently. It sounds as if the side effects from the recent change of medication are really impacting on you. I do hope that they settle for you soon.

It's understandable that you're feeling concerned about the pain that you've been experiencing. I'm glad to hear that your recent scan showed no cause for concern. It sounds sensible that your GP has referred you for some further tests.

If you're still feeling overwhelmed and concerned about things then do get in touch with your GP. They will be best placed to help.

I hope you won't have to wait too long for your appointment and the results will provide some answers.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
