The cancer pathway is 2 weeks, although your GP put it through as an urgent referral, the hospital he referred you to may decide that you are not urgent and therefore can wait. If it were me I would take some comfort in that, however, if you're not happy you could always go back to your GP or call the hospital and ask for an explanation.
