Girlfriend diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma

Hi everyone,

I never thought I would be posting on this forum but my girlfriend has just been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma.

She is very positve and strong minded about it, her father also had this when he was her age and is still fighting fit.

She will begin Chemo next week and thought this group could be a useful place to be a part of.

The fact she might lose her hair is her biggest concern, her father didnt though and obviously I am reassuring her I will love her just as much as now if she does lose it- hair grows back.

If anyone in a similar position to me had any advice on how I can make sure she is comfortable and stress free as possible that would be great.

I have a good friends group around me that have been very helpful the past couple of days.

I wish everyone the best, no matter where they are on this long journey.

  • Hello Tkzero2 and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your girlfriends recent diagnosis. I know that some of our members here will agree that her positive approach and mindset will stand her in good stead as she starts her treatment.

I'm sure that having your support will be greatly appreciated by her. Hopefully some of our members will post with their experiences and advice but I also wanted to give you this link about supporting someone with cancer.

I hope that her first chemo this coming week goes smoothly. Do let us know how you're getting on when you're able to.

    Best wishes to you both,

    Jenn
