Stopping Tamoxifen after 10 years

Hi everyone.

I am just about to stop taking Tamoxifen after 10 years and wondered if I am likely to get any withdrawal side effects.

I am aged 63 .

Has anyone experienced any side effects after stopping after 10 years and how long did they last.

Any advice and comments appreciated.

Hi Zetgirl,
I only took Tamoxifen for 1 year and Letrozole for 6. I stopped taking the Letrozle in 2017 and had no withdrawal symptoms.

Hi Zetgirl,
I sincerely hope that you don't have any problems when you come off Tamoxifen. How did you cope when you were on it?
Please let us know whether or not you have any problems when you stop taking it.

I will let you know how it goes. I am coming off them slowly, one every other day at the moment.
I was very lucky with Tamoxifen as I have been on it for just ober 10 years without any side effects at all.

Hi Zetgirl,
I am glad to hear that you had no problems with Tamoxifen throughout the time that you were taking it. It is probably a good idea to gradually come off them. I never thought of that with Letrozole or Tamoxifen. I just stopped taking them and had no adverse effects.
