HPV positive and low grade dyskarosis

Hello, I Recently had my first smear had the results friday as HPV positive and low grade dyskarosis got to go for colcoscopy on 6th March had cervix examined by nurse who did smear and she says I have an ectropion so went to see my gp yesterday to have this confirmed which she did said I have a very mild ectropion however I have read this can look alot like early stages of cancer and am not even more worried given my low grade dyskarosis diagnosis

I'm going out my mind with worry can't even look at my daughter without being upset convinced something worse will be found at colcoscopy just wanted to know is this possible or would I have high grade dyskarosis my sister has had this and had treatment to remove them.. 

 

Also what are peoples experiences who have had the same results from smear

    Hi there,

    Sorry to hear about your recent results. My smear results were also low grade dyskaryosis & high grade HPV. I was going out of my mind with worry. I had the colposcopy 2 weeks ago where a punch biopsy was taken, a little uncomfortable but not painful, similar to a smear. I got my results back in less than 2 weeks which were CIN1, they are confident the cells will go back to normal with no further treatment and I will be back for my next smear in 12 months.

    Please remember that abnormal cells are treatable. I almost feel a bit silly now that I worried so much about it!
