Hi all, wanted to share my experiences with others and maybe get some advice.
I've been having symptoms since october 2019 (bloating and needing to wee frequently sometimes), but started abnormally bleeding in December and still now, during exercise amongst other things (Feb 2020). Got referred to have a smear done and my contraceptives changed in December, but was refused a smear due to my age (I'm coming up to 21y this month).
Instead, I had pelvic exams + swabs, complete blood tests and both pelvic + transvaginal ultrasounds. All came back clear (apart from some fluid in the womb, but apparently this is normal?). I've now been referred to gynaecology because my GP still has no idea what's wrong (which isn't helping my nerves at all.) I've been told I need to go for a hysteroscopy, but the wait time for the first appointment is over 90 days long!!! Fingers crossed I can get fast tracked as my appontment would be mid-exams season if this were to happen.
Whilst being at uni at the same time, all of this has been causing me considerable stress, as my bleeding keeps occuring, all while I have no idea what is actually wrong with me, because it could really be anything. It's affecting my day to day life.
Dr's have said that its unlikely to be cancer 'because of my age', but at this stage its really hard not to think about it. I've always been a person who likes to know what they're walking into and I like to be as knowledgable as possible.
Does anyone have any advise how to cope with the stress, the sypmtoms etc? I'm not one to make a fuss normally, but I'm really struggling. Thanks x
