What Should i do next?

I've had swollen lymph glands for about 4-5 months now, painful and hard, they sometimes throb. They're in my neck, groin, armpits, etc they're basically everywhere you could imagine . Some days one is more swollen and it's painful to move my arm for example in that area, I had one in my upper arm and moving my arm ached. I still have swollen lymph nodes in that area, just only painful to touch.

I keep needing to urinate so often, I wake up in the night a lot for a wee and it's making me tired, I'm feeling not too great anyway. Lymph nodes are supposed to go down after a month or two, but they won't. My stomach is tender, and it's swollen. This makes my appetite decrease.

My GP says I have low T4 levels so he's checking something to do with my thyroid. my blood counts were normal like RBC. He isn't giving me any ideas of what it could be. I'm worried as cancer keeps popping up. I'm not trying to say I have it of course! But my GP seems rather disinterested about what's bothering me, he's just focusing on blood, he's not telling me why and what it could be. I don't want to close the case and tell him to leave it because I know this isn't normal.

If  it could be related to cancer Do you think he would've brought that word up??

    Hi Anonymous,

Welcome to our forum. I am sorry to hear about your swollen lymph nodes and the fact that they are not going down. This must be very frustrating for you, especially when your GP seems so disinterested.

Do you have another doctor in your practice? It might be worth seeing him/her instead. This would give you a second opinion which is always helpful.

Your GP might not have brought the word up if he thought that you were unaware of the possibility that it might be cancer. However, if he suspected cancer at all, he would have referred you for further tests. You know your own body better than anyone else, so don't leave it if you feel that something is not right. You could mention your fear of cancer when you see your GP and ask him outright what he thinks.

I hope that you get this setled soon for your own peace of mind. Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine
