A warm welcome to our forum. We have some information on oesophageal cancer here which I hope will be useful to you. I hope you will hear from others here who have been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer before and that they will tell you more about how long they had to wait before starting treatment. 

Perhaps you could get in touch too with your husband's medical team and ask them about the timeframe that is to be expected between diagnosis and treatment? They might be able to tell you more. I do hope you won't need to wait too long for it to start.

im sorry to hear of your husbands diagnosis, have they said what the treatment plan is? I was diagnosed with stomach cancer 14.08.18 and started chemo on 11.09.18, after CT scan, ultrasound endoscopy and staging laparoscopy. It all moved pretty quickly. Has your husband been assigned a nurse? Mine was very helpful with any questions we had and keeping us updated. If you're not happy with the lack of progress tell them your concerns. The waiting is a very difficult time.

Hi thank you for reading my post   no he hasn't been given a nurse directly yet, everytime we go to a different hospital we get a nurse saying call me anytime. 

He is having a laprosopy on Friday to stage the cancer but we have found out that it's in his oesophagus where it meets his stomach and is in a few of his lymph nodes but nobody has said what grade it is. We got offered juice drinks to build up his strength,  but he is eating small amounts   but what worries me more is they said he could have a feeding tube fitted but we don't think hes at that stage yet
