Delaying radiotherapy

After a routine mammogram I was found to have calclifications, I have had a lumpectomy, but no cancer showed , they were precancerous cells.

4 weeks down the line, I have been discharged from one hospital, and told to wait for my appointment to see the oncologist to start my radiotherapy, which I was told would be in a couple of weeks.

i go on holiday for 10 days on Sunday, so I thought great we need this time to chill before the radiotherapy.

Then today the letter arrived for me to see the oncologist this coming Tuesday ( 11th ).

i spoke to my breast nurse and she said no problem I will ring them and make a new appointment for after your holiday .

Now I am sitting here going mad,, I am doing the right thing by putting it back,, omg it's one thing after another!!!

  • Hi Patxxx,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can imagine this situation feels a little tricky, but it sounds as if you've made the decision to stick with your holiday plans, so perhaps the best thing now is to focus on enjoying that, and then attending your appointment afterwards.

    Wishing you all the best,
