It sounds like you've been through a lot so far but I'm glad you're staying positive. Many of our members have found this to be really helpful on their journeys and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to say hello and share their stories with you.

You can try and find others with the same diagnosis by using the 'search forum' option in the blue bar above so do give it a go when you have time as it's always nice to connect with others who are on the same pathway.

Welcome to the forum that nobody really wants to join. I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad to hear that you have already had surgery and started chemotherapy. How are you coping with this?

I'm glad that you are doing your best to keep positive during treatment. It makes such a difference to your treatment and eventual outcome when you can do this.

Hi Jolamine,

The chemo side effects are quite intense for a week or so, I’m not sure what’s worse, the rally bad pain up your nose when you breath, the super bad headache or the nausea but I’m sure everyone going through chemo has to put up with this, it’s a means to an end of cancer, so shouldn’t really complain, it’s amazing how far medicine has come! They cured my 9 yr old, 2 yrs ago of lymphoma cancer.

Have you been given anti-nausea tablets for nausea? If these are not working for you, ask for something else, as there are a number of options. I'm sorry to hear about the other side-effects too, but, as you say, it is a means to an end.

It is amazing how far medicine has come I lost both parents to cancer. My mum died 10 years before I was diagnosed. There was just no comparison between the diagnosis, treatment and after-care that she had and that which I have experienced.

You must have been totally devastated when dealing with your 9 year old's lymphoma. I am so glad to hear that they managed to cure it.
