Husband diagnosed with secondary cancers, can't find primary

Husband diagnosed with secondary cancers but they can't find Primary. Complete bolt out of the blue and struggling to get my head around it. Waiting for team to get back to us with plan. Any strategies to keep me calm and get some sleep? I realise I need to be strong but finding it hard to get my act together. Any advice gratefully received. JP

  • Hi Janiep61,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm very sorry to read about your husband - I can only imagine how difficult this must be.

It is very cliched but try to take things one day at a time. The uncertainty and waiting for information is never easy so how you're feeling is perfectly natural.

Make sure you take pockets of 'you' time among everything as well. Things like mindfulness or meditation, or simply sitting and being present and reading a book are small things that can help. And going out for walks too.

Of course do use this forum too for support as much as you'd like - it's a very welcoming and supportive community of people. I would suggest browsing the forum too to find other relevant discussions.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
