Hi. I'm not sure if here is the right place to post my question but I'm concerned about the possibility of a US scan on the thyroid/neck missing something. Back in October I got a horrible pain in my neck and noticed a lump starting to form, my GP couldn't see anything so I left it until the December to go back and when I did she was angry at me leaving it so long and referred me for a scan. (The lump is hard and moves when I swallow, it also seems to create fluid around my voice box area and swell into my collarbone). Long story short anyway they did the scan and couldn't find anything and I'm concerned somethings been missed because the lump is still here, getting bigger and causing veins in my neck to swell and I wake up in the night in agony with it. All my thyroid levels are normal. And because I have fibromyalgia it's being blamed on that. Hopefully I'm worrying about nothing I'm just very perplexed. Could a US miss something or are they quite accurate? :) and has this happened to anyone else?
