  • Hi there ..

And welcome ... most areas have a 2 week refural, if I were you I'd call your G Ps and ask them why your not on it ... though I know some areas differ .. but that seems a long time to wait, and it gives you longer to worry ...

Firstly remember 8.5 out of ten lumps are benign... and the younger you are the better chance... it's not impossible but improbable... so try not to panic ... my first four call backs from mamorgrams over the years were fine... they were fatty lumps ...

At our hospital, they give you a mamorgram first.. though if your boobs are small you may miss that bit .. then an ultrasound... and any lumps seen they take a biopsy of the lump ... it's like a quick sharp jab , but over in a couple of seconds ... sometimes they can test it and tell you about an hour later, and sometimes it goes to the lab, which takes a couple of weeks ..

Everyone's results get to a meeting of all the oncology team .. they discuss everyone's results .. and if positive, they all work out the best way forward ... then you see the Dr usually at the hospital, and he will tell you then ...

It's always good to take someone, my daughter in law came with me, and held my hand, for the biopsies... and she came to my Drs appointment .. to either give me a high 5 or write down All the Dr was saying .. which on my 5th lump was positive ... but honestly you've got really good odds ... please don't Google... they make everything look like worse case scenario...

Even if the small chance it is, there's lots of us breast lasses on here ... mine was a grade 3 .. and I started chatting to 6/7 other breast lasses at the same time, in 2017 ... and you know wer all still here .. most have gone back to their life post cancer... and pop on occaisionaly .. it really has come a long way .. we just here of those that loose their fight on t.v ... but there's lots living with it .. and one of those lasses has just had a baby after her treatment ... so hold on in there ... and try and get that appointment brought forward ... fingers crossed .. let us know how you go ... Chrissie x
