Fibroadenoma...advice please

Hello, I'm lou, a single mum of a 4 year old, I'm 34

I feel a bit daft writing after reading some posts on here and the things you have all gone through.

On wednesday just past whilst lying in bed I felt a lump in the side of my left breast. I felt it the month before but put it down to being on my period. I rang the gp immediately and was seen on friday morning.

He felt it straight away which shocked me as I'm known for being dramatic and thought I'd imagined it. He was quite positive however and said he thought it was a Fibroadenoma.

He has referred me however to be checked and I have an appointment at a breast clinic on the 6th feb.

I'm crying and not sleeping. As everyone says it could be nothing but it's just the small chance it could be the big C.

Has anyone been told its a suspected Fibroadenoma, then had it diagnosed as cancer? Also I've told a few close family members and friends but i dont know if I'm worrying them for no reason

Xx

  • Hi Loobie and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry a lump has been found but try to not let those thoughts get the better of you if you can. I know it's tough, especially when waiting for your appointment, but many of our members have been in this position so will understand what you're going through at the moment and will hopefully pop by soon to share their experiences and advice.

Sometimes knowing what's going to happen on the day helps so if you'd like to find out more, just click here.

I hope all goes well on the 6th Loobie.

    Kind regards,

  • Thank you so much Steph. It means a lot. I had a phonecall yesterday to say my appointment has been moved forward to the 3rd so at least I dont have as long to wait
