Swollen area in armpit I

Hi,due to constantly being at my doctors as I have a solitary kidney with stage4 ckd I haven't liked to bother them with what seems a small problem but I've had an area in my armpit that's swollen for at least 6 months and in that time it's also got bigger. If I hold my arm up the lump area is clearly visible but on lying down and pressing it it doesn't seem firm but 'something' is there. Could it just be a fatty lump,I'm not overweight but I know you can get fatty lumps even if you're slim. Should I take up my GPs precious time with this small thing considering all the time I use up with my kidney or just wait some more and see if it goes away?

  • Hello Bellasbabe,

It's very nice of you to worry about the doctor's time but that's what doctors are there for so I would make an appointment to get this lump checked out. It doesn't matter that you are already spending a lot of time at the doctor's for your other condition - your doctor will be happy to examine you so do make an appointment to get this looked at.

I hope your appointment goes well!

    Best wishes,
