Vulva Cancer? Please help

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help please I'm going out of my mind!!!

i had my smear and it came Bk hpv positive so I went for a coloscopy and whilst there the gyn asked about my Vulvar and I told him yes it was itchy and sore so he wanted to check this as noticed it was inflamed.

after checking my cervix he did the same routine on my vulva added the solution and straight away I had bits that turned white I can describe as little bits of gristle like he tugged away at them but obvs they didn't come off he told me he was worried about these and needed to do a biopsy on these ‍♀️

I was to shocked and distressed to ask what it could be and just wanted to leave has anyone else been in this situation and what was the diagnosis please thanks in advance x

  • Hello Jo5ie89 and welcome to Cancer Chat!

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I am sorry to hear you have been told that they needed to do a biopsy after checking your vulva. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your biopsy results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you at the moment while you are waiting to find out more.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Could be absolutely nothing. I had treatment 6years ago as had pre cancerous cells I was high CIN3, my last smear 3 years ago came back normal but gone to have my next one this week and I have a polyp which apparently is nothing to worry about but she couldn't do a proper smear test as it's in the way so now being referred to a gynecologist to have it looked at!!
until you've had the biopsy I wouldn't worry (easy for me to say I know) but it could be absolutely nothing or if it is something it will be treated quickly
