Secondary breast cancer on ovary

Anyone out there that has presented with ovarian cancer, only to find it is my breast cancer that has returned? Looking for others like me. I'm 48 years old and was diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer 8 years ago. I was pregnant at the time, but delivered my boy before starting chemo and rads. I've been ned ever since.

went to gp with fluid (Ascites) in my abdomen, had ultrasound that found a lump on my ovary and one in my abdomen, ct scan showed nodules on peritoneum. I was told I had ovarian cancer. Went to hospital to have fluid drained, the cytology of the cells in the fluid were found to be lobular breast cancer! I'm now being passed to the breast unit and awaiting a further plan.

just looking for similar people to me. How I wish this had been a different primary cancer :-(

  • Hello Jomelbo,

My mum has just been disgnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer and they originally told her she had metastatic ovarian cancer. She had bloating and back pain and started to vomit over christmas and new year so i made her come to hospital for further tests, they performed a CT scan which showed she had metastsis in her liver, kidneys and bones from her masses on both ovaries. We are still awaiting a plan of treatment.

My mum just under 10 years ago had breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and a reconstruction and has had all clear mammograms since. They are now saying that cells have laid dormant in her chest wall and have now caused all of this. I am so gutted.

So sorry to hear you are going through this at only 48, my mum is 60.

Hope you are well with it all.
