Scared about colon cancer

Hi, I am a 33 year old man and I am worried that I have Colon cancer. My left abdomen had had an intermittent burning pain sensation for about 2 weeks that comes and goes. My bowel movement is normal in terms of frequency, but it’s long and thin, the thin stools are always followed by loose fragments of fluffy type poop. They are always a tan colour. I have been trying to eat food to bulk them up that hasn’t worked and I am starting to really stress out about it. I otherwise feel fine, I do get back ache but that’s normal for me.

  • Hi David,

Have you seen your GP yet, if not I would recomend making an appointment even if its just for peace of mind.

I only made an appointment to see my GP just before Xmas, I'd had various intermittent symtoms over the whole of last year, no pains. My GP did a quick once over but found nothing but from the list of symptoms I gave decided to refer me for a colonoscopy. (Make a list before you go to be sure you give a detailed report of symptoms even if you don't think they are related)

This has been done this week, I have a 'blockage' that required biopsys to taken during the procedure these will be checked for cancer, I now have an MRI and CT scan booked as an additional check.

As I said at the start, its worth seeing your GP for reassurance at least or referal if needed.

Hope you can find some help from my experience.
