For the past 2 months I've been getting spotting every couple of days, I've been on the depo injection since my daughter was born 2.5 years ago and I havent had a period since then.

I started getting pain and spotting after sex recently too and every so often, a very sharp stabbing pain in my rectum...

When i was pregnant I used to check my cervix and because I thought I knew what it feels like normal, I felt it last week and felt a lump on the side of my cervix... so naturally I went to my gp. He took my concerns seriously and had a feel and look with a speculum and saw what I was feeling. It's a triangle shaped lump and feels like cartilage.

I'm on the 2 week wait referral, my appointment is next thursday for a 'needs scan'

Anyone around my age been through this? What does the appointment involve usually?

I'm not really worried, it's most likely a polyp or something but I'm wondering what the appointment involved and anyone elses outcomes with symptoms like this?
