Thank you for posting. I see from your post that you are worried about some symptoms you have, particularly because of the family history. You've done the right thing booking an appointment but in the meantime try not to worry about it. You'll only no more once the GP has looked at it and decided if you need to be referred or not.

Welcome back to our forum, although I am sorry to hear that you are here on your own behalf this time around. I too have lost my mum to secondary breast cancer and, was diagnosed with primary breast cancer myself 10 years ago. I had a lumpectomy followed by Tamoxifen then, but discovered a second lump in the same breast a year later and had a bilateral mastectomy followed by Letrozole. I stopped taking this after taking it for 6 years. That was in July 2017.

I can fully understand why you are so scared and your family history will only heighten your anxiety. I was first recalled after a mammogram, but this was clear in the end. I discovered a lump in my breast during a routine self-check about 10 years later.

If it's of any consolation to you, Most people get very scared at this point. It's fear of the unknown as much as anything. The best thing you can do is to distract yourself from the wait, by keeping as busy as you can. Stay clear of  consulting Dr Google as you will only suceed in scaring yourself rigid.

You will find the doctors very gentle when they examine you. Let them know that it is sore before they start to examine you. You are young and, it is unusual to have pain involved with breast cancer, so I am hoping that you will get a simpler diagnosis.

Not long to go now until Friday, so fingers crossed that it all goes well.
