Inverted nipple and breast clinic referral

Hi all,

This is my first time posting and I'm hoping for some advice. For the past few weeks I've had a red, scaly rash about the size of a 50p coin above my nipple on my left breast. Initially I thought it was dry skin and treated it with moisturiser, this seemed to work intermittently and although it did reduce the redness it's not gone away completely.

Just before Christmas I noticed the nipple on my left breast occasionally inverted, mostly when I was laying on my back and I found it worrying as I've never had this before.

I've had pain in this breast for around 6 months but GP always said it was likely to be hormones/nothing serious. I went back to the GP today with my new symptoms and was referred to the breast clinic on a 2 week wait.

Needless to say I'm now massively anxious and worried I have breast cancer (or even worse inflammatory breast cancer from my symptoms) and that I'm basically going to die.

I'm only 26, recently engaged and no children. Can't believe this is happening. I'm glad I've been taken seriously and referred but at the same time my GP's concern has made me so scared.

Has anyone had similar symptoms to me? I should highlight that the inverted nipple is intermittent and isn't always sinking inwards
