Single lung nodule

i think I’m still shaking and I’m definitely not sleeping. Sorry to be a bit framatic but can somebody give me some advice please.

Not sure how more I can deal with at the moment.  For the last 2 years I’ve been on watch and wait for a replacement heart valve. That was new to me and appears to be congenital. The time has come for it to be done and various tests being done in readiness for surgery one of which was a ct scan.  Anyway I’ve been called by a respiratory clinic to be told that the scan showed a small area that needs to be checked,  all a total shock.  Was looking forward to having the op over and get back on with life but now I’m scared there’s something more sinister.

Can anyone give me more advice on this please?

  • Hello Boston54,

Welcome to our forum. I can imagine this must have been a total shock for you and I hope that you find out more very soon and get some clarity on all this. I hope that you can also have your heart operation sorted soon. Try if you can not to worry too much or anticipate what this might all mean as there are so many reasons why this small area may need to be checked more thoroughly.

If you can try and keep busy and distracted while you are waiting to find out more and avoid looking anything up online as this will only exacerbate your anxiety.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out to be fine so that you can just concentrate on getting on with your heart operation. I hope it all goes well for you.

    Best wishes,
