Lump/Cyst on Vulva!!!

Hi,

I'm 31 and for years now, I have gotten little pimples/lumps. Although they are very uncomfortable, they do tend to go away by themselves and I tend to get them around once or twice a month.

however, recently, I've gotten one large lump that doesn't have a pimple head so doesn't look like a spot. It's only the bottom part of my vulva and upon looking online, a Bartholin Cyst seems to come up as a possibility. However, it keeps bleeding and seeping and now I'm growing concerned. My GP gave me antibiotics and isn't seeming to be as concerned as I am.

However, upon looking online, Vulva cancer comes up too and obviously this is frightening. My GP doesn't think blood tests are necessary nor seeing a gynaecologist as she said that's 'only if something needs to be chopped off'

any advice?

  • Hi BA and welcome to the forum.

If you feel your GP isn't listening to you, maybe you could try seeing a different one to get a second opinion? We have some information about this on our website just here.

I hope this helps and you're able to get some reassurance and answers about this lump soon BA.

    Kind regards,

  • I have had recurring boil / infected cyst here too and there was a hormonal link for me in the swelling and contracting. Take notes over a fairly short period and bring them back to GP's. Bartholin cysts were also identified as a possibility, as was endometriosis but mine was neither of those - does largely go away for a good time with right antibiotic though so might be worth getting it swabbed or trying diffeent one
