12 year old son has lump on testicle

I was wondering if anyone had experience of this. My son has just turned 12 and he told he found a pea sized lump on his testicle yesterday. It is only painful if he keeps touching it. He is very shy and won’t let me see it. I am planning to take him to the GP ASAP but I’m getting worried in the meantime (obviously not showing him my worry)

I'm sorry to hear that your son has found a lump recently. As he is so young it would be unusual for it to be cancer however it's always a good idea to get lumps and bumps checked out by a GP as soon as you're able to.

thanks for your reply. It was actually a vein that was bulging out, nothing to worry about at all.
I hope your son is ok, has the GP checked him over? The doctor did say that it’s highly unlikely to be anything serious in a child that young.
I know it’s a worry but sincerely hope all is ok with your little one
