Hi I've just finished 4nights/5 days as an inpatient on Cisplatin & 5FU. 2nd cycle begins on 14th January.
So good to be home - how long does the nausea hang around for & any tips please? TIA

Hello kpeat64 and welcome to the forum.
I'm glad to hear that you're home now after your first round of treatment. I hope that the nausea has asettled since you posted but youmay find it helpful to have a look through the information on our website here about sickness.
Do let your nurse specialist know if you're still struggling. It may be that they are able to prescribe or alter your medication to improve things for you.

Thanks Jenn for taking time to reply. Specialist nurse was on phone today & suggested I needed to get more anti sickness meds added in.
Thanks for the link to suggestions re handling sickness
Kind Regards

Hi,
As always the answer to how long is "it varies".
I was on EOX (a different chemo regime) but I learned the hard way to ask for help in relieving the side effects. I also slept for almost 24 hours after each infusion and then forced myself out of bed to walk the dog. This may sound bonkers but mild exercise somehow helped to ease the pain and being out with the dog stopped me from fretting too much.
Good luck with the treatment!
Dave
Thanks Dave
Hope you're doing well now
Karen
