Recurring CIN3

hello,

i have just had my biopsy results from a colposcopy and LLETZ treatment last month. It’s the second time i’ve had this; the first was in 2016, and showed up CIN3 cells too. I am worried because the letter says the treatment did not completely remove the cells and calling me back for another appointment, but not till February. This feels like a really long wait to find out what is going on and possibly undergo further treatment. Though i’m wondering if they thought it was cancer, would they be calling me back more quickly? Has anyone had a similar experience, or is anyone able to tell me what might be happening?

Thank you.

  • Hi Lichfield and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry that the treatment wasn't able to fully remove the cells and I can understand your frustration with having to wait until February to find out more. Hopefully some of our members who have been in similar situations will be along soon to ease your mind and share their experiences with you but you're welcome to give our cancer nurses a call about this next week if you'd like to talk things through. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I know it's difficult, but if you can, try not to worry or overthink this until you know more.

    Kind regards,
