My dads bowel cancer

Hi - my father has advanced bowel cancer and spread to liver and lungs. He lives alone and has managed up until now. He collapsed today and luckily neighbours got him inside. He is very weak and the lymphodema really impedes his walking. I'm getting nowhere with the local hospice so called support or with his gp. He can't be on his own ... I don't know where to turn.

  • Hello Sassy109

I noticed that you'd not had any response to your post so wanted to reply to see how your Dad was after he'd collapsed. I hope that he didn't injre himself.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling to get some support. I'm not sure what to suggest other than the agencies that you've already mentioned. If you've not been in touch with them since Dad's collapse then do speak to them both again. You could also mention to his GP about Dad needing an assessment for some equipment to help make his mobility safer. They should be able to arrange that for him.

I hope that something is sorted for Dad soon.

    Best wishes,
