  • Hi Emma

Firsrly sorry to hear and It must be extreme worry for you and your daughter . I think that you can find hope and strength that it is just a query and  NOT CONFIRMED cancer. As a teacher I know if few children that have had the scan to be safe and ti rule out causes and it came back non cancer each time. I hope that gives you hope . Unfortunately the waiting  part is hard and the not knowing . I hope given you some comfort .

    Hi emma,

Welcome to our forum. I am so sorry to hear how worried yourfamily is about your granddaughter. I just wanted to assure you that not all lumps are cancerous. I have one on my arm which is quite large, but not painful. I had it investigated a few years ago and was told that it was a harmless lipoma (lump of fat).

In light of your anxiety, I am sure that you will be happy to have the date for her scan sooner than expected. Don't worry about this. The hospital is probably trying to clear as many patients as possible before Christmas. It usually takes 1-2 weeks to get the results after a scan, so you should know before Christmas.

Please let us know how she gets on. We are always here for you.

I sincerely hope that the scan doesn't reveal anything untoward.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
