Expidiated appointment date re skin biopsy result

Hi. I had a skin biopsy taken from my lip 2 and a half weeks ago to confirm a condition called Actinic Cheilitis which hasn't responded as hoped to Efudix cream. The professor said she would also be looking for other things and I should make an appointment to see her for results in 4-6 weeks. I got a follow up appointment for 5 weeks after having the biopsy and assumed that I'd be contacted by her if squamous cell carcinoma or anything untoward showed.

So I was a bit dismayed and startled to receive a first class letter today (Saturday afternoon) to see a different dermatologist in a different hospital a week today (Saturday) at 8.45am.

I have checked and the community hospital I'm to be seen at next weekend does hold dermatology outpatient clinics and my pre-existing appointment hasn't been cancelled or postponed yet. But I don't really like the thought of being seen by a stranger early on a Saturday morning about the biopsy results. Presumably as the date has been brought forward then they have found something untoward warranting more urgency?

Can anyone tell me is this usual protocol for getting biopsy results or would we normally be told by a dermatologist we know at the clinic we have previously attended? being unable to phone the clinic and ask until Monday morning is stressful  - especially as I have other serious chronic conditions and my lip is very sore.
