Cervical polyp

can anyone give me some reassurance ...

ive been experiencing lower back pain and lower pelvic pain and have since been found to have a polyp on my cervix. I had some swabs taken which have come back clear and a smear test which I am waiting on the results.

May cervix was also bleeding which was causing bleeding after sex and inbetween periods. Silver nitrate was used to stop this and it has worked.

I am aorrying all the time that the pain means cancer. Everytime I google it, it says cancer. I am trying to stay positive but it’s so hard.

Can anyone advise ??

thanks, emma

  • Hello Emma

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some health problems recently. Obviously it's a worrying time for you.
We know that waiting for tests and results can be particularly difficult. It's generally a good idea to not try to find answers online. There is a lot of inaccurate and irrelvant information available online and pretty much most symptoms you can describe online will return results with bad news.

It sounds positive that the swabs you had came back clear and that the treatment has stopped the bleeding. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the results of your smear and your Dr will be able to discuss any appropriate treatment options with you.

    Best wishes,
